    Missed you at the NC State game. I got up with Ala. Buzz, Mack, and Old Foggy during that hot disappointing loss. I got a chance to meet other people from other boards as well. One reason I miss the Chat Board.

    Thanks...hope things are well with you :-) Sorry I didn't see you then...I met up with AB to get an extra ticket...seems like my party was dragging before the game that day...& then we had actual reason to drag later...whew it was hot...& sad

    Really looking forward to the upcoming football season...hope to run into y'all at BDS :-)

  • I miss the old old board, canchan.com. That board seems like forever ago! Thanks for the update Jim- I've been a regular visitor/occasional poster since I was the "16 Year Old Tech Fan" haha.

  • ditto for me. this board never did get to where i could easily go to the last post i read in a thread.

    edit: I thought I was quoting schwartzkov here, but the quote didn't make it. On the old board I found it easy to go to the last post I'd read, to find posts I'd replied to, etc. This board never quite got there. Here "New" puts me on the last page but not the last one I'd read.

    The individual who is designing the new board is a graduate of the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Science who is very experienced.

    We'll see if in the end a guy who went to a small liberal arts college in Ohio with an english degree (the guy who designed the old board) or a graduate of the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology's Computer Science Department knows more about software and programming.

    I'm betting on the Georgia Tech man, myself.

    How will we know when the switch is made, or even where to go? I can't imagine 247 would take very kindly to you telling everyone here to go somewhere else.

    GTMD, we go back and I appreciate the kind words. Keep reading this thread and it will provide details of our next destination as soon as things have been firmed up. I will let everyone know no later than next week.

To me, it also had the right balance of information, discussion, tomfoolery and mutual respect. In the words of Elwood Blues, "We're getting the band back together...". well, at least I hope so.

    i'd love to see the live chat feature back. makes commentary during while watching the game MUCH better!

    Looks good, Jim! One question: will we have to re-register or will that information be carried over from here? I wouldn't want anyone else to steal "srschirm" and taint my outstanding reputation...lol.

    If GT football doesn't win at least 8 games with a victory over UGA next year, we need to start considering the post-Paul Johnson era.

    schirm, from what I've been hearing the srschirm nickname is a hot commodity right now but I've passed on some huge offers and reserved it for you. biggrin

    The plan is to be able to carry over nicknames, hopefully the technology gods are kind to us.
