  • I think we lose him... and with Vad and JT in the fold, I don't blame him for not being too excited. Vad looks to be the guy for the next few years and has shown his potential, so I'd think a QB would be a tough sign in this class.

    Virtually no chance he would ever play QB at Iowa. If that's what they're selling him, then you've got to question the integrity behind such a pitch. Just look at the track record of Iowa QB's. ... They're just trying to get another DB in there with a phony sales pitch. If he wants a legit shot at QB, then GT is the place.

    The article says something about looking around in case the GT coaching staff doesn't return. That's pure lunacy. The GT coaching staff is in a more stable position than 99% of the programs out there. I think we hang on to this one. He will see what's up with all of this and be solid by the time he's done with his visit to GT in January.

  • It seems like he's still Georgia Tech's to lose as long as the current coaching staff is retained, and the current three-game winning streak can't hurt.

    Regarding Iowa, keep in mind that Brad Banks was a highly successful dual threat quarterback at Iowa under Ferentz. The Hawkeyes typically offer at least one dual threat quarterback every year, so it's not like they're not interested in that type of player. However, the vast majority of those guys have selected other schools.

    It looks like Wisconsin may be first in line if he doesn't end up in Atlanta, with Rutgers right on their heels. Iowa and Arizona State need to secure official visits before emerging as serious contenders.

    Thanks for the info. There's absolutely nothing to worry about with the GT staff - not even a remote possibility. Obviously we'll be adding a new DC, but that wouldn't affect Damon anyway.

    Wisconsin would be even less of a possibility for him to play QB than Iowa. I don't ever remember them using a running QB. Wilson was a classic passing QB. I don't know about Rutgers, but I think they're more of a traditional QB team too from the few times I've seen them.
